what will be differences of the leopard and the zfs system with the tiger 10.4.9 current build with respect to using adobe cs and mathematica/matlab/c++/java programming, if any?

If Apple does it right, you won't even know you're using a different filesystem

It's not something that a typical user would notice. The OS handles interactions with the filesystem. It's transparent to the user.

I'm still on the fence with ZFS. I've never used it and the Wiki page on it is a bit spotty on info.

so is everyone else, even Sun, and it's their system! :D

hopefully we'll here more details at WWDC next week........unless steve pulls another "you told everyone before we said you could, so now we're dumping you" tirade and puts Sun on the chopping block :( Perhaps this is the REAL reason for the Leopard delay ?

Not likely. Apple announced Leopards delay before Sun revealed that ZFS would be the default filesystem for Leopard.
