Bloody Macbook Pro is at it again.

There is this little red light that likes to pop up on me inside the audio-out port of the Macbook Pro. I've heard that its the optical out detecting an optical connection. The only problem is that I don't have anything plugged into it.

This also causes my computer to stop playing sound or flicker the sound output as the red light flickers.

Here's a video of my woes.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYshCDVXBfc

So, what should I do? If it doesn't do this when I visit Applecare, will they take the video as proof enough?

It happened to me once. Very annoying. I plugged an audio cable in a couple of times and went back to normal. I think it happens because something inside the port has gotten slightly bent so you'll wanna be careful. Don't know if this is much help but good luck anyways.

Daytime guys, what say you? Any issues like this?
I'm being drowned by new Pro owners.

Hi there,
I was just experiencing the same problem you wrote on your thread, I was wondering what happened in the end, did you have to get the computer fixed?
Thanks!

are you using Boot Camp? i think it happens after using Windows just a little diriver glitch. try plugging in your headphones and rebooting or try a safe reboot by holding shift at startup.
