my cousin studyin in new york just ordered a macbook pro. since he is a student he gets the discount. i convinced him to sell it to me( will a lot of nagging of course!!!!😀 ). now wat i wanted to know was , since the macbook pro is in his name , how do i change the ownership and , i am currently in india , so will i have the applecare warranty here also???

On laptops it is worlwide.

As for the name, I don't think that matters, but I believe that when you are registering the AppleCare, there is a link for you to change who is the owner.

Has your cousin already activated AppleCare?
 
Tell your cousin to give you a copy of the invoice.

If you are going to get Applecare, buy it in India. Apple recommends you to get the Applecare in your country/region due to some regulations and restrictions, but still it would apply worldwide.
