Interesting read, and some valuable insight there, not for us, but for Apple's competitors :p

Interesting, except for the conclusion:
None of these things, of course, guarantees success: you can buy in clever ideas, pursue simplicity, ignore focus groups and fail wisely—and still go bust. Apple very nearly did so itself. No doubt the bumptious Mr Jobs will overreach himself again...
"again" is a bit of revisionist history. The near-demise of Apple was during the time when Jobs wasn't in charge.
If they're referring to the Lisa, Jobs wasn't in charge of it either.
There is no question that Apple is playing a high-stakes game, and a critical mistake could put Jobs and the rest of the company in a lot of pain, but it's unfair to claim that Jobs has failed like this before. (At least not at the helm of Apple - NeXT was on a downward spiral before Apple acquired them.)
Yup, there is a bunch of shoehorning doing on in that article.
