That was a long article. I think Apple could very well do great things with the iPhone in a "third act" of sheer brilliance, like the "first act" of the Macintosh and the "second act" of iPod + iTunes. There's definitely a lot of interest in the iPhone - it could be more of a success than Apple bargained for, much like the Macintosh and iPod before them.
