Hey guys

I have a 12" Powerbook (DVI) and its hard drive just bit the dust (SMART failed) (and its out of AppleCare). I ordered a new HD from newegg, not noticing that it was 3.5" instead of 2.5". Anyways...I'm looking to make sure that I get a hard drive that's compatible.

The HD specs on the original are: 40GB 4200-rpm Ultra ATA/100 hard drive.

Should I try to get a bigger HD?

Will this (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=101597&prodlist=froogle) work, or will it be too hot at 7200 RPM?

Thanks
Dreil

This is a UK site offering Mac upgrades (http://www.macupgrades.co.uk/store/machine.php?name=powerbook-g4-12#int-hdd) but it might give you an idea of which drives are compatible.

Good luck with fitting the drive; I've heard it's an incredibly fiddly and difficult task!
