shipping delays?!

hey guys,

ordered a macbook pro on tuesday around 4pm est. only modification i made was up to a 160gb 5400rpm drive. the order status page told me it should ship out by the 7th, and arrive by the 11th (2 day shipping). i got an email on the 7th at around 8pm informing me that there was an 'unexpected delay' on my order, and that my free ipod, printer, and case would be shipping by the 7th-8th, and my macbook pro by the 8th. well, my 3 accessories are in the mail and should arrive on monday, but, lo and behold, the macbook still hasnt shipped! is this a normal occurance, or is this something i should take up with customer service? can i request a refund on the price of expedited shipping because they didn't meet their deadline? it's 11:58 on the 8th... something tells me it isnt going out with today's mail.

You paid for expedited shipping, not for expedited processing. If after they shipped it, and you didn't receive it in the paid time frame, then you should request refund for that.

it doesn't seem strange to you that it's been pushed back from the original ship date twice, and now past the second date without explanation? i'm not angry with apple or anything (god forbid) but i'm anxious to get my new laptop and i don't want there to be problems with my order.

It does not seem strange to me at all. It has been delayed 1 day. It's likely because there are so many orders to fulfill.

Apple doesn't usually work on weekends, but I imagine they will be shipping tomorrow to keep up with demand.

Has your credit card been charged the full amount of the computer yet?

Be happy, those of use who got the 7200 rpm hd have to wait a lot longer. Remember, it takes time to pop open that laptop and put in new parts, and there are probably a lot of people in front of you.

oooh, i just got an email from apple! they emailed me earlier this morning and told me it wouldn't ship out until the 12th-14th, but i JUST got an email informing me that my macbook pro has been shipped! apple's email estimates i should have it by the 13th... awesome!
