Just wondering if any one has experienced this.
I have the c2d 20" imac and using disco to burn some plain data on dvd discs.
When its done etc, the discs are Xtremely hot..
is this normal?
I havent expereinced this much heat from the pc burner.

any advice?:
thanks

You didn't literally burn the disk, did you?

It's normal for a slot drive in a Mac.

Remember it is a laser too...

No thats what burning is literally burning marks onto a DVD or CD to count as a 0 or a 1. I saw it on a TV Show :D

No
:)
however, the smoke effect from disco was ironic.
The disc comes out piping hot.

Not only were you burning it (they don't call it burning for nothing!), but some slot loading drives like that can make discs pretty hot anyway. Erm, I guess as long as it doesn't warp or anything you're ok. :)

On my 24", the discs are piping hot even after I've just read them. It's normal, so don't fret. :)
