ever since I did the battery update, my battery has been draining really fast. Today for instance, I unplugged it for the first time in a long time (I usually keep it plugged in an hooked up to an external monitor). I unplugged it, opened it up, sat on my couch and looked at the battery meter, it was at 82%. WTF is that?!?! why does the battery not keep its charge anymore? I only bought the computer in Feb. and according to iStat, there is only 44 cycles on it! Anyone know what is going on? or what I should do?

or what I should do?
Get a new battery, plug it back in before it runs out of power ?

Calibrate your battery. Charge it to 100%, then discharge it 100% (let the computer go to sleep on its own). Leave the battery in its discharged state overnight, then charge it back up again in the morning.

battery issues are the top reason for recalls, i would take it to apple store as it is a recent purchase or call apple care if you have it.

This likely isn't that case but...
Batteries loose their storage capacity if you constantly have them plugged in, combination of loss of memory and overcharge I believe. But I don't think that should be the problem if your MacBook is still that new.
