My 1st post after lurking a few weeks checking out the Mac Mini action. Here’s my situation.

I’m going to be using a Mac Mini as an interim computer(about a year) for my recording rig (Logic Express … getting Logic and Mac Pro and OTHER stuff later ).

I can get a 6 month old MM dual core 1.66 1 gig ram, a 19” wide screen LCD, Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse for $700.

What’s your opinion of the chances of a MM update with a lower $499 tag within a month? ….C2D looks like the most crucial… This same setup new from a store with tax is pushing $900.

It looks like the best deal for RIGHT now and I’m tossing the dice that the MM gets discontinued in it’s present form.

It looks like a solid computer as is I’d but I’d feel like a huge ass to buy now and a update to happen next week……
I waited for any news at WWDC but…..

The deals almost done and I only have untill tomorrow (Tues 6-12)to back out.

The only hold up is the owner never registered the buy and he is tracking down a way to transfer over the ownership(that is possible right?)….and….can I still get the apple care ?Thanks for all your help and suggestions

I'm unsure when it will be updated/discontinued, I bought only a month or 2 ago and thought an update was certain right after I bought, and that never happened.

The trouble with WWDC is they might be releasing things all week, as the keynote is limited in time.

But it's an adequate computer.
