yea sorry about that I was just so into it that I forgot that the keynote just ended.

Well on the topic, they priced it 3,500, which is pretty steep if you ask me.

Pricey?

It really fits right in:

Samsung 21"
1600x1200
$2195

Apple 23"
1920x1200
$3499

Samsung 24"
1920X1200
$4129

IBM 21"
2048x1536
$5852

Couldn't be more linear if a plotter got invovled.

Apple Cinema HD Display (23" flat panel)
$3,499.00
The Cinema HD is a stunning, all-digital, 23-inch flat panel display with 1920-by-1200-pixel resolution - enough to view high-definition (HD) content with room to spare.

iPod (10GB)
$499.00
Say "Hello" to iPod, the first MP3 player to pack up to 2,000 songs and 10-hours of battery life into a stunning pocket-size package you can literally take everywhere. It's your entire music collection. To go.

Finally, finally, I get it!!! Apple is moving towards pricing their products LIKE BMW's!!! And i thought Steve's seemingly asinine analogy had no place at all in the PC market. Damn was i wrong!

3500 is expensive but it fits in with the market. does anyone know if plasma screens can be hooked up to a mac? they are massive, like 5-6 metres wide, although they are a bit pricey........

i guess you get what you pay for.

Has anyone seen the new display in person? I would be interested to hear any impressions of the image it produces...
