no hard drive in WWDC demos

did you notice there is no hard drive icon on the desktop when steve is demoing, where has it gone?

you can hide the HDD icon in Tiger. Press +, and deselect the HDD tickbox.

He maybe hadn't got it selected to show up – you can decide if stuff like hard drives and CDs show up under Finder/Preferences/General.

Don't worry - I'm sure Steve's Mac had a hard drive 😉

ok, i forget you could hide it. I just thought maybe it was gonna be a dock icon or a stack now

Haven't you heard? You no longer need a hard drive in Leopard. It accesses all information and data using fairy dust. Remember, Steve doesn't need a wand to make magic happen. 😀
