So we all agree the 3rd party app solution was a bit of a dud. But what I'm wondering is with the lack of ichat how long until someone makes a meebo like site just for the iphone. Owners of meebo are you listening! meebo.com/iphone!!!

depends on the real limitations of the whole web technologies thing, we know it doesnt do flash, will it support anything? animation via javascript? ssh via java?

I thought in that fact i saw from some newspaper that it will have flash but not java?
so no flash?
still gonna get the iphone.

Javascript will work, and if the new Safari beta is any indication, it will run very fast and smooth.

Javascript will work, and if the new Safari beta is any indication, it will run very fast and smooth.

It was funny - I just didn't want people to get the wrong idea :)

That, and I'm really impressed with Safari 3's handling of JS. Of all the things I expected it to do, improved performance wasn't one.
