Resolution independence in Leopard?

So, can someone clarify this, because Jobs' WWDV2007 keynote didn't really help:

Does Leopard support resolution independence in the end? Will its user interface and APIs be fully resolution-independent?

There is a 'Resolution Independence Lab' (1080) at this years WWDC:

I am really hoping for RI to take off with Leopard. It has so much potential to improve the computing experience.
