I've been thinking about this. Why doesn't MR implement the "quick response" feature on its forum?

See pic to know what I'm talking about. Everyone forum except MR has this that I visit. ;)

It's been brought up (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=298971) and (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=246619) shot down (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=217979) a couple of times. :o

Actually, if anyone ever bothers to read threads (yes, even if they're older, people usually link to them because they're relevant), you'll find the reasonings for why MR and the admins have decided against using this feature.

Here... in case you're too lazy:
It encourages more posting with less thought. And that's been enough to settle the question. From an admin, no less. :p

does it really matter that much?

I think that the way it's set up now works perfectly fine.

my personal opinion is that we would see a large increase in number of posts, but no increase in actual thoughtful content..
