I'm looking for an apple laptop to use for iTunes, Quicktime (mostly Guitar World videos), and schoolwork but I'm on a budget of $400.00. I need something that is rugged so I can take it to my friends house and it won't break. What do you think?

I would say go with an iBook G3. I got an iBook for $200 (600MHz, 256MB ram) off eBay.

Not that you would want to upgrade such an old machine, but the G3 will not be able to upgrade with this next release of OS X. Just a heads up.

Get an iBook G4. Great laptop and good for what you want to do.

I think you are SOL. You are better off saving a big more money and getting a refurb macbook. Anything less than a G4 I would not classify as "good".

My wife uses a second gen shuffle.
I use a 2GB nano for workouts.
80 iPod for everything else.
I sold or broke the others.
Now why the hell do you need an 80 GB iPod??? I try filling up my friends 30 and even then we can barely get half. Vinyls, CD's, iTunes, ect.

Sounds to me you're not copying enough music. Stop paying for music, and you'll fill it up! Hold a music swap party with your friends! 😀

I currently have 60 podcast episodes in addition to music, videos, and pictures. But honestly, I bought the 80gb because it was only $100 more than the 30gb.

Well, the OS X Leopard Developer Preview disc has a little read me file which lists the system requirements, and they are:
* an Intel processor or a PowerPC G4 or G5 processor
* a DVD drive
* built-in FireWire
* at least 256 MB of RAM for a Power-PC based Mac and 512 MB for an Intel-based Mac (additional RAM is recommended for development purposes)
* a built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer
* at least 6 GB of disk space available, or 8 GB if you install the developer tools
So unless they make some changes (highly doubt it), no G3 support.
