NumLock on mac-compatible keyboards

I've found that almost every Pc keyboard I ever have used has a num-lock key. I was wondering why this was missing from mac keyboards and if there is any other way to turn this feature on.

On my iBook F6 does the trick. Would it be the same on the keyboard? I use the Logitech mac edition keyboard mouse combo. Mac help said something about using shift-clear but that it might not always work.

Just tried the shift-clear method. Works perfectly on my G5.
