Since BF2142 is coming to the Mac, does anyone fancy making a BF2142 MR Clan?
Then we can get corporate sponsorship (from Apple of course) and get our combat knives etched with lovely little Apple logos...

I've got the game for PC, but switching over to windows became too much of a hassle. If I've got $50 when the mac version comes out, I'm down for some MR pwnage action.

I'm already well on the way to having enough for mine. ;) I've been saving for a few months and should have almost enough by the end of this one. :)

If you give me half, I'll be your best friend....:p

Sigh, I am going to miss the initial release of BF for Mac. Can't wait to get back home....

Unfortunately, Harvey, once I have enough, that'd still be about £300 (well, a few more, but I don't care) too few for you. ;) Giving you half of what I have would mean you'd still need about £1000. :p

Hey, you gotta start somewhere! Honestly though, I think I may start a Mac Pro fund. I'm waiting for the new chipsets though, the ones with onboard flash.

Yup. And I'm only about $500 away, if I got the base model with an ADC student membership. That leaves me more than enough to be ready for BF2142 as well. :)

I've actually already put together a Mac Users clan for BF 2142. Granted, it doesn't have any members, but maybe we can get some to join or found an official MR-sanctioned clan.
Here's the link to the clan if you want to check it out:

I'll join up.
Do I need to register on the site that you linked, or do I just add the "==Macs==" tag for my soldier and it automatically will be tracked...

You need to register on the BF2142tracker.com site as a user. It'll help you look up your user ID if you don't have it. During the registration process, just select "Mac Users" as your clan, and it will automatically be tracked from there. After that, just add "==Macs==" as your clan name in the actual game. Thanks for joining!

Clan registration mentions needing a clan member password. How do we get that?

I was wondering why nobody had joined yet...
Sorry about that. The password for the clan is "macs" (without the quotes). The tracker requires a password, so I had to set one.
Once again, sorry I forgot to mention the password. That should be the only thing you need now to join the clan.

Since you've already joined the tracker, just click "User CP" at the top of the tracker page. Then click "Tracker Control Panel" towards the bottom of the page. On this page, you should have your BF2142 account ID filled in. Then in the "Tracker Clan" selection field, select "Macs" as your clan (without the quotes). If you're having trouble finding it, just press the "m" key until you reach the right one. Then, enter "macs" as the clan member password.
That's all that's required to have your user ID tracked by the tracker under our clan.

Im just wondering if anyone has thing running without crashing on any new Mac? It looks like a good game but where are the Mac version reviews?

I'm in the process of composing my review for the game. I have experienced some stability issues, but am waiting for a response from EA regarding them. I'll keep MR posted when the review is published in the coming weeks.

What model MBP do you have? The problems seem to be occurring most often with the newer SR MBPs.

Can you tell us what settings and resolution you're running it on?
If you get a chance, open up the console while playing a game (shift and ~) and type in renderer.drawFps 1. That'll tell us what FPS you're getting...

Sorry to bring an old thread back, but it was better than creating another one.
I'm honestly surprised that our clan only has six members. It seems as if there were many more Mac gamers which actually owned BF 2142.
If you're a BF2142 gamer, please join our clan at: http://bf2142tracker.com/bf2142_clanprofile.php?clanid=2241
Thanks.

It does not appear as if you specified the "Mac Users" clan when registering.
What you need to do in order to be tracked as part of our clan is go to: http://bf2142tracker.com/bf2142_trackercp.php and choose "Mac Users" in the tracker clan dropdown menu. Then, enter "macs" as the clan password (without quotes).
After that, all you have to do is add ==Macs== as your clantag inside BF2142!

Thanks a lot. Updated my player stats so I'm good to go. Gotta re-installed bf2142 (I hacked the NS so I was able to play NS maps) so that it doesn't crash when I try to do my next unlock.
Will be as active as I can be. Thx.

Out of all curiosity, how exactly did you hack NS so it worked on your Mac version? I am contemplating whether or not I should do this, as it might contribute to the game's already-crippling stability issues.

Someone else on the BF2142 Support forums had an idea, I offered to be the guinea pig and it worked. However, the BFHQ will ALWAYS crash the game.
Stability wasn't an issue, it worked great and was able to join NS maps. While everyone was waiting for the 1.4 update I was already playing.
It's the BFHQ crash I didn't like.
The post is over at the Mac BF2142 Forums page:

FYI x-kat69 is me. I'm removing it simply because of the BFHQ crash problem.

Ahh, so it seems that I would be better off buying the Deluxe Edition for PC until EA actually releases an official version of NS for Mac. Thanks for your help, though.
