Non-Universal games on Intel Processor?

Hey guys,

I'm gonna be picking up a MBP in a few weeks and one of the things I want to use if for is games, I'm going to buy a copy of XP in about a month (when I can get it cheap) but I wanted to get a game in the mean-time for OS X.

I was intending to get Rise Of Nations (gold) for OS X, but I noticed its not universal (not on the Apple site anyway) and I wondered how the performance would be? Is it playable, enjoyably playable or embarrassing?

I play it myself on a C2D iMac and it runs perfectly. It does take a while to boot up though. Great game.
