Where's the rest of the 'About This Mac'? Doesn't the window usually show 'Processor', then 'Memory' then 'Startup Disk'? So how come...

You might have a MBP 15'' but there's no way you have 8 GB of RAM. First of all, the memory controller in the MBP only supports 4GB of ram, and secondly, it would be DDR2 SODIMM, not DDR SDRAM

bc if i keep it plugged into the charger it hurts the battery's life. the guy at the apple store says not to keep it plugged in when it's fully charged.

The guy at the Apple Store wouldn't tell you that, in fact it's exactly the opposite of what they'd say.

Bull. It doesn't hurt the battery if it's fully charged because it starts running straight off the power cord. And Apple doesn't hire idiots that wouldn't know that.

Since the MacBook Pro's come with DDR2 Ram and not DDR ram you must be taking a screenshot of a Powermac G5 and not the latest G5 as those were DDR Ram, the latest G5 was DDR2 and the Macbooks and Macbook Pros were DDR2 as well. So that is not a screen shot of your laptop. Maybe of a G5, post the whole screen for us, since you are showing the whole of the laptop Dashboard.
