Are the MBP SR Screens 256k Colors?

Is this really? No Millions? Are all LCD panels 256k or only laptop screens? Only Apple Laptop screens or every laptop screen out there?

PLease help me out here since i noticed some dodgy shades of the control panel window when floating over a white area, try it yourself. :confused:

All MBP screens are 6bit. Apple is using Dithering to "simulate" millions of colours. It was said before - there is no, null, nada, zero laptop panels with true millions of colours. (Correct me if Im wrong please)
