I think that a forum for writing and stories would be cool. You could get your stories critiqued and other people could help you with your story. I enjoy writing and I would like to get a book or two published in the future, so it would be very good to see what a lot of people think of the stories I write and how I could improve them.

Sounds great! I do a lot of writing too. (have a couple of novels under works) and it would be great to let people judge them and give me a few pointers.

Aren't you worried about someone robbing your words?

There's also the issue of posting 15-100 pages of fiction onto this forum.

People could attach a zip file.

I think new forums have to be at least tangentially computer or Mac-related... there's a case to be made for the digital photography forum, I'm not sure whether there is for a specific writing forum.

I doubt that there is enough intrest for this, but why can't you use the community forum?

Um, word processing? The power of Word? Pages? :o

Er, maybe it's a bit of a stretch.

I think it would be neat, interesting to read and fun. So, I vote yes for this. I do like your idea. :)

You know there are people who use Macs to write books, so it can be Mac-related. People use Macs for Digital Photography, and Writing, so all the more reason to have the forum.

iBookG4User, maybe you'll just have to settle for using the Community forum to post your writing. I assume you're not too worried about plagiarism, theft of ideas, or loss of privacy from metadata embedded within your Word attachments...

(Yeah, I'm a little paranoid. :o )

Not really, I've posted some of my stories on smaller forums before. It's not as if I'm going to post the entire book.

What are the stories are mostly going to be about?

I really like the werewolf stories, so that's been what I've been writing about lately.

Not to mention the author lady in "Stranger than fiction"

not that that has a lot to do with real life authors...

I think we could easily make it mac/computer related. There are lots of powerful and fun software titles out there to help with a writer's task that go way beyond Pages and Word - Final Draft, Power Structure, Scrivener. Not only could posters post LINKS to their works, they could also state how technology helped them in the process. My $.02.

What do the mods think of this idea? I still think it would be great to have that forum, and I'm sure that there would be enough interest in it.
