Any idea why I always get this error when I try to download a Microsoft app?

I always get the same error message when I try to download a Microsoft update or Flip4Mac anything related to MSFT and the same stupid page comes up. I have Comcast if that matters and MBP.:confused:

This is the message:

Safari can’t open the page http://download.microsoft.com/download/c/8/9/c8941314-e056-404a-8ea8-8744e425a/WM%20Components%202.1.2.72.dmg because it can’t find the server “download.microsoft.com”.

What happens if you clear Safari's cache, then quit it, then try again?

Same exact problem. I thought that might be the trick, unfortunately in three years it has never worked.

Open Terminal, type "cat /etc/hosts" and paste the results back here.
