Just upgraded - must say so far I am impressed. Seems Indesign and Illustrator have some nice new features. I was a little surprised to see that the App icons have gone in a total different direction from the previous flashy interfaces. I have attached an image of my dock with the new CS3 App icons.
Although one could argue that it does make for easier navigation in the dock, it just doesn't look and feel like the Adobe brand I've become so familiar with. As the saying goes...change is good...or is it?
What are your thoughts on the new icons?

They are bland, but the CS1/CS2 themes were so poorly thought out that it's still a big improvement for usability.

The icons I have found have a very close look to the very old discreet icons and look a few year back.
I like the simplified icons, I do know there are plenty of people who hate them with a passion.

I agree..I still like the PS7 and AI10 icons best.

That's it in a nutshell. I still sometimes open ImageReady instead of Indesign. The dock icon must work before it looks pretty.

Ooh, good idea. Can you help me? What's a good app to modify and create images with?

You can use Paint if you have Windows. Unfortunately there is no software available for Mac, but with a bit of effort you might be able to cobble together the right combination of bits in TextEdit.

You use the multicolored feather pointing right one because the multicolored feather pointing left crashes or try the red flower one pointing right (not fond of the yellow flower pointing left). Then import it into the multicolored butterfly because the red butterfly crashes as well. :D
You could try this

I like the old icons...never got 'em mixed up.
I'm gonna feel like I'm back in science class. "I'll use element Ps for my photos"
Blech

I really like the "chemistry" theme. It's clean, easy to identify, and moderately chic.
I was pretty indifferent about CS2 icons, but these just stood out to me as nifty.

Photoshop CS3 ;)
Then icon the image with Favicon Generator (www.favicon.co.uk)

I really like these ones (http://www.jeremie.nl/cs3/cs3.htm)
The one thing that concerns me though, does changing the icons screw around with Adobe's software? I remember when I had CS2 (or was it CS?) I changed the icons and when I ran the updater it screwed up the installation and kept asking me to reinsert the licence number and for Acrobat the update wouldn't even install. I wouldn't want this happening again.

I like this better than the new ones. I understand the concept of simplicity, but the new icons are BORING. All you need to do is use the apps for about 5 minutes and you know which app is which. Not to mention it says the name of the program above the icon when you hover over it ;)
From a "design" company, this is a cop-out, a la Quark's old-new logo ...

There are quite a few topics on this :)
I hated it at first because the first apps I bought were Acrobat and Distiller. Ugly flat white and ugly flat brown.
Luckily the other ones are more colourful and they do look a bit nicer when they're sitting next to each other in the dock. In isolation they're drab though.

Ehh, I find the new icons to be terribly ugly. I never confused Photoshop from Illustrator from InDesign in CS2. Now I use these (http://jonas.seph.ws/portfolio/portfolio.html) icons (scroll about halfway through the page) instead
