this topic has been brought up before in bits and pieces, but i wanted a more comprehensive list

right...i'm a competent mac user who knows how to use OS X pretty efficiently...but i haven't got the years of experience to know what apps are cool and fun to use or make life easier (in fact i only have months of experience)

a little bit about me...i have an iMac and MacBook (both most recent versions)...i study architecture at uni in australia...love cars and soccer...and architecture:p

any apps you guys think i might like?

Quicksilver (http://quicksilver.blacktree.com/) is a great app.

Hmm architecture....

I don't know how useful these would be for your work, but I love iClip (http://inventive.us/iClip/). It's a multiple clipping clipboard.

Also, if you're ever in need of a straight-forward app for graphing, then you'll want to check out Plot (http://plot.micw.eu/).

If you like recording streaming audio, wiretap (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/wiretap/) is awesome.

I can't think of much more that I use that isn't mainstream (i.e. iWork, Pro Apps, Adobe crap).
