MacDrive doesn not work with XP 64bit

Why are you running XP 64-bit? You are going to find very little support for running 64-bit Windows (XP or Vista) at this point. If you can, I'd install XP 32-bit until Vista 64-bit matures and then upgrade to a 64-bit version of Vista.

I never found one while I was using it but I found 64 bit windows to be problematic and went back to good old windows 32 bit!

After all these months still not working on x64. And to answer the 2nd post, with the memory pricxes these days, some people prefer 8 GB RAM and not use those swap files. PS flies with my RAM sticks.

You cannot upgrade from 32bit to 64bit, that would require a complete reinstall. Then again, its windows, its known for reinstalls.

Hopefully they will release a macdrive version that works with Vista 64 soon since bootcamp supports it now, it is truly pathetic that they are too lazy to make a compatible version. It really speaks badly for their company.

I was very angry to learn after I installed Vista64 that macdrive didnt work which made me have to reinstall 32bit since I need access to my big HFS drive. As soon as its possible for me to move enough files Im going get rid of all HFS partitions and just use the FREE NTFS solutions in OS X.

Probably, but it's nice to be able to be in Windows and open your OS X partition. You'd think Apple and Microsoft would finally get over themselves and add NTFS/HFS+ support to each other. I'm surprised Apple hasn't done this.

not forgetting to mention that they charge you another $250.00 for mac raid access with NO upgrade path. you have to pay the full 250!!! even if you own macdrive 7. i wish apple would just release the drivers and put that company out of business.

Yes! I find it amazing that so many of the machines I see
selling these days (even desktops) can't be upgraded with
more RAM because they come with 32-bit OSes that can't
use it. They're already maxed out, or nearly so (with, say,
2GB in).

Transmac will do the Job. It will install as a 32bit app. No big difference in performance it not crunching any numbers.
