Never. AT&T as a carrier is a terrible decision.
Just give me a widescreen 640x320 multi-touch 100GB iPod ASAP please.

It's hard to say--I'm really unsure of the demand over a $500-600 phone. I'll be out all day watching the stores. Both of my potential stores are in shopping centers, so I'll probably shop around until I see a line.
I answered 3PM-since if there's no line at 3-4PM, I'll make one.

I'll probably be in line in about 6-7 months time... :p

I'll think about getting in line when it comes to Canada, whenever that is…

I voted 2:00 but will probably head over to the mall when they open to check things out and see if there are any lines. If not then I will wait until later in the afternoon. One more week, can't wait!

I live in the middle of no where and the only AT&T place near us is a kiosk in the local mall. They don't know much about anything, but I will call them soon to see if they will be getting any.

I think this poll should have another option: "Depends upon the results of this poll" ;)
I don't think I'm going to wait in line. I'll probably swing by on Friday afternoon and see if there is a line and how long it is.

640x320? you're going to be waiting a very long time. i say you'll be lucky to see this in a 7g ipod. you're definitely not going to see it in a sixth.
i'll go around 4pm, see if a line's crazy long.

The night before? Are people really going to queue for 18+ hours for a phone, even the iPhone?

I've decided that I'm not going to go. I love the way that T-Mobile treats me and I don't want to deal with another arrogant carrier (this is why I left Verizon). Until reports on how AT&T treats its iPhone customers come out, I'm going to skip it.

Cingular/AT&T sucks, and I won't go back to them. Also, I haven't the slightest need for the iPhone's feature set.
I just hope it isn't the next Newton.

Agreed. I had Cingular service and it was horrible. I hope they got things together for this iphone. Too bad Verizon's negotiations didn't go well.
I think it'll be a small group of people at each store. Heck, I waited 5 hours to get my kid a wii for xmas. I'll never do that again. Well, maybe...:D

I am going to stop by three stores in my area, get a gauge for home many iPhones they will get and how much interest they seen.
At that point, it will be about which one has the best "location" and by that I mean a place where I can wait, out of sight (Starbucks) until such time as a line starts.
Once the line is up to 5-10 people, I jump in.

HERE, HERE! Maybe a 120Gig though...
I'm not going to get one, but I'm going to "stand in line" anyways just so I can say I stood in line for an Apple product... :p

I'm planning on taking the day off to camp out in line. I've got a Mac buddy to keep me company and I expect there to be some kind of party atmosphere at the Seattle store in the U district. I don't see myself queueing up any earlier than 12pm. Any earlier might be too tedious for me to sit through.

They should've made the "Undecided" option separate. It's hard to tell how many of those 1700+ people that voted for the first option (not going to or undecided) will actually decide to show up.
I'm beginning to be skeptical of the launch party turnouts.
(lowering my expectations so I can be blown away)

I'm currently in Canada. We have only one GSM carrier and I would never give them my money. Probably around 2009.

Is everyone supposed to cancel the phone contract they have the day before?

I have built 4 androids of myself that will be dispatched from my home at 7am, each heading to different apple/at&t stores in my area. They will create/wait in the line and report back to me their place in the queue so I can make my decision and show up to the appropriate store at 5 till 6. It's almost tooo easy...
then again i might just wait till G2.... hah

Nice try but you will be killed by Apple geeks when you try to claim your spot

How interesting. Would this happen to be a take on the NeXT logo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:NeXT_logo.svg). I remember T shirts saying "NeVR" back in the 80's.
I wonder how many Mac-heads today still feel that way, now that NeXTStep is a core component of MacOS.
