Link: MPlayerOS X Binaries for Panther. MPlayer OS X is a linux port of MPlayer -- which plays 3ivx, DivX 3,4,5 and other codec files. Perhaps the best support under OS X for DivX files. (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=62947&release_id=132403)

If you're looking to play DivX files...

this is clearly the best, imo.

VLC (Videolan.org) is a close second... but I've had better luck with MPlayer.

Well, for DivX files I use DivX 5a3 (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/12844) which I think installs the codec into QuickTime player along with the validator.
Really useful if you get corrupt files.
(Don't use 5.0.6, it messes up everything)

This player is working well for me so far.
