Game graphics problems with parallels

I am running XP on parallels and just installed the silent hill 3 demo, the game runs but the screen stays black and just the sound works, does anyone know how i can fix this?

How do I check my directx settings?

Before you open the virtual machine, go to the options where you set the HD space, RAM etc. and select video. Then there should be a checkbox for directx.
