DiskMountUtility not working correctly?

Hello MacRumors members,

If I try to mount a DMG, it always (no matter what DMG it is) hangs for about a minute and pops up saying "Device not configured." in DiskMountUtility. What could be the problem with my Mac?

Don't know yet... Try mounting it with Disk Utility. Does it work?

Same problems here. I recently updated to 10.4.10, but I dont think that was the issue because I vaguely remember mounting a .dmg after the update.

Tried followed the terminal steps in the last post of this thread (http://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/index.php/t9386.html), repairing permissions, restarting. If I try mounting it in the terminal (I'm assuing thats the last step in the post off the other thread) it says something along the lines of "timed out waiting for driver"

It seems I spoke too quickly, a second reboot (perhaps after trying some of the terminal stuff) seems to have fixed the problem :D
