I was making a two hour H.264 (Quicktime export) vid from a DV file in MPEG Streamclip. It was all going well (albeit slowly) until I got the '... unexpectedly quit' dialogue box.
The vid was on its second pass and at 99% the last time I looked, so I'm assuming it was part of the finishing up procedure that caused it to crash. But anyway, at the moment I'm not so interested in what made it crash — what I want to know is if, given that I think the video had been encoded, I can somehow rescue the project from the TemporaryItems file in my Cache. The aim would be to somehow turn the data in the temp file into the video it almost was, and save having to encode it all again.
It seems like a big ask, but computers are miraculous things aren't they?
Anyone know anything I don't?
