Wow, only took a week to address that one from when it was made public.

Good work, Apple. :)

Ummmmm... as far as I know, it's not July 14th yet, and it doesn't even show up in Software Update. Maybe I'm slipping into a sarchasm, though.

Nope. Don't use this Screen Effects feature. So I will not need this update. I finally got my Mac running like a top. And would hate to throw it off.

Here goes the uptime again... and I just got it past 10 days again. Glad to hear it installs easily. I'll post if there are any difficulties.

Good to hear about your 10 days... I was on 3.5 weeks, but then the electric company said they were swapping meters so I had to put her down last Friday. It was a good run though, looking forwards to many more.

this is a buffer overflow vulnerability that affects more than just screen effects.

I tried the buffer overflow and couldn't re-produce their crash of the screen saver!

I pressed my keys down for like 5 and then 10 minutes with no luck!

What does this really do??

Worked on my machine... took forever though

but after wards it quickly launched screen effects again.

this same exploit would crash the login panel out to the console -- did it fix that as well? or does this update only patch the screen effects password panel?

wow. my family's iMac has been up for probably 2 weeks without a restart. i don't really need to install this because no one in my family uses this screen effects feature.

Everyone's mentioning their uptime. I know I could just keep track by ham, and, but is there a nice way of tracking uptime...or maybe a log file somewhere that does it automatically?

Thanks!
