Me too. New 120GB 640x360 Video iPod with multi-touch and a Stoakley-Seaburg 8 Core Mac Pro are on my shopping list.

But you can't devalue the importance of the iPhone in the history of media so might as well ride the Apple PR Juggernaught which I imagine won't stop before August. Just have to be patient while all this hyperbole tsunami passes over the culture to the point of ad nauseam. Then Apple PR will want to change the subject so the Apple INK continues about Apple Inc.

I figure I might as well ride the wave and enjoy the hype while it lasts...it'll be gone after a while.

I'm so sick of the iPhone, I want to stick my head in a bucket of ice water and plug my ears with squid tentacles.

At first, I thought the iPhone was an excellent idea. Even though I hate cellular phones and don't own one, I thought the iPhone would be the first phone worth using. Finally cellular phones would be easily configurable like computers and users could program them any way they wanted. I thought the iPhone was supposed to be a way to "shake up the cellular industry" and you'd be able to use the phone on any carrier and still use the non-phone features when not on a carrier.

Then I heard the crap like "2 year contract", "AT&T only", "all features locked until activation", "can't make your own ringtones" (who would actually pay for a ringtone??) and I realized that the iPhone is just another money-generating cellular rip-off.

I think instead of buying an iPhone, I'll just paint some buttons on a banana.

Forums 99 and 104 are in my excluded list on both Forum Spy and New Posts and I'm finding myself spending less time than usual on the Mac web. Way too much.

There's too many stupid threads of similar subjects about the iPhone on here. There's an iPhone section yet threads seem to leaking into every other one too. I'm so over it.
