O_o

it was buried in a section of comments that many people don't even read.

This topic will let all of the users in this forum (where just about everyone who uses FCP checks) know. :p

Did someone vote negative because this isn't iPhone news, or are all the positive votes actually a celebration of that fact?

Two questions: Why no Logic Pro update? What's the Delay Designer plug in? Did I miss that before?

(OK that's three questions.) :D

Gee Apple makes money in other places, other than iPhones.

You mean they are kicking major tush in the laptop, ipod, pro software, desktop consumer, desktop pro and online music sales. (About to pass Walmart and Target).

Is there any wonder that Apple stock doubles every year? Maybe this will be the year that is the exception. It looks to be going for more this year.

Imagine a company that is excelling in all their profit centers. Forget the phone, Apple is doing well enough everywhere else to justify the 40 PE, on 25% growth. Oh, and remember last quarter when they said the made a boat load of money because their margins went down? Well I haven't noticed any price breaks lately so the margins are STILL HUGE!

Apple rocks!

Have they fixed the retarded compressor icon sizes... aka, not being able to handle more than adding settings for 3 files on a 23" screen without scrolling, etc..

Logic will not see an update until 10.5 we may hear about it soon, but I'm guessing it will need 10.5 and it will make good use of 64bit capabilties.

you heard Steve Jobs talk about how important 64bit computing is "especially for pro apps"

logic has a recieved a huge overhaul, it is only a few months away.

as for the FCS update. hooray!

A breath of cool crisp Mac air. It's nice to see a morsel of Mac new on this iPhone site. :apple: :D

I installed the updates and it seems to be fine. If you have not tried using Pro-Res 422 I highly suggest you do. It's much better than other codecs and a reasonable file size to boot.

Hmm. Reading the list of fixes for Color, I don't see any mention for the problem of shifting in/out points when using Canon's 24F mode. I'll have to give it a shot later to see if it's fixed yet. Until it is fixed, Color is absolutely useless to me.

edit: Just checked and the bug has been fixed! Thank you Apple! Now I can start getting my hands dirty in this new grading package.

I REALLY hope that they don't have a Logic Pro update because it's comming out in the same proximity as Leapord. If not, I'm dissapointed!

I'd like to see some more updates to Color. We tried using it here, and it really does not feel like Apple has done much to make it behave like other Mac apps. Have you seen the file dialog boxes? Hello, unix.

You could say the same thing about Shake.

I could, but I don't use Shake. And shame on Apple for not using their own common dialogs for these apps. Nobody was expecting Color to be included, so why not wait a little longer and release it when it's up to snuff?

Because now we get to enjoy having Color now instead of later. It may be hideous, but I'm glad to have it. :)

Probably because they didn't want to delay the entire suite for the sake of one app. Compared to Color's other issues (some of which have been addressed in the update) the un-Apple GUI doesn't rank very high, IMO. It's par for the course for apps like these. Last year Final Touch cost $25k and now we can get it for free, basically, as part of FSC2 so I think the "room to whine" factor is pretty low. ;)

If someone gave you brand new, $25k car would you complain if it wasn't in your favorite color?

The rationale, as I understand it, for the bland look and feel of Color and Shake is so that the GUI doesn't interfere with the aesthetics of the project. Supposedly, this makes it easier to color, grade, or edit the work. Whereas a "loud" interface could be distracting.
