Go with the Unarchiver (http://wakaba.c3.cx/s/apps/unarchiver.html)! It's the best software I have ever used for compressed file formats.

I'm pretty sure StuffIt Expander can't handle RAR files, but I could be wrong.
I used a program call RAR Expander. Worked like a charm, and I'm pretty sure it was free.

You should also download MacHacha for those pesky files which read like:
wmv.001
wmv.002
wmv.003
etc.
And I find that RarExpander is a much more elegant program for rar files than is stuffit expander.

I love The UnArchiver (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/theunarchiver.html), I swear by it.

Anyone know of a program that will allow you to make rar files? I would like to create rar archives in several segments...dunno if there is anything that supports this on OS X.
Thanks.
