Cracking noise coming from all sound output

Well this sucks. I already need to send in my iPhone for repair.

There is a noticable 'crackling' noise which comes from all sound output. Music, movies, ringtones, etc being played through both the headphones and the built-in speaker.

Has anyone else noticed this on theirs?

I have exactly the same problem with my iPod video,
after my computer crashed, it still plays video's but a real loud crackling noise comes out :confused:
I have absolutely no idea how to fix this!!

I got that while watching an ep. of 24.

I turned off my iphone.

then turned it on.

and watched the video again and the sound was clear again.

You may have HW probs. but first check with a simple on/off test.

I eventually got it replaced. It was definitely a hardware problem.
