Does anybody know what software runs the MacRumors forums? I'm looking to implement a system very similar to these forums, and I was wondering where (if possible) I could get information about the software.
Thanks!

MacRumors runs vBulletin (http://www.vbulletin.com) software.

or try phpBB (http://www.phpbb.com), which is VERY similar to vBulletin, yet completely free to use for any purpose.

phpBB is a great forum database, just make sure your hosting package includes a MySQL database and supports php. Some of the cheaper hosting packages do not, or charge extra.

vBulletin is the best but it's not free.
if you can't / don't want to pay, try invisionboard.
phpBB .. well it's ok.
i use woltlab. i have tried all of those - vBulletin seems the nicest. Woltlab is ok, i've had no problems so i'm not changing it. invision is nice and easy to make look ok. phpBB is the one i like the least. if you choose that, at least forget the default skins, they are superugly!

You're looking at $160 if you want to own the software, cheaper if you lease it.

Sadly, it's not as simple as HTML, it runs in its own sort of code.
Which is where you get the code
stuff from, I was going to start up a forum, but decided not to as it would've taken way too long.

It's not that difficult actually... I run a forum and it was relatively easy to set up and modify. I use phpBB
