Has anyone tried charging their iPhone with the firewire 400 cable and adapter that came with the earlier iPods? I have a Dock to FW and USB cable that I would like to reuse when I get my iPhone.

Saw in post, I think here, that yes it can be charged using Firewire, just like iPods, but no syncing via Firwire, just like iPods (well, current models)...

Yep. No problems. Except I'm not sure it charged 100%, because the settings area which shows how long it's been since it was fully charged didn't show that it had ever been fully charged.
Edit: I've been charging my 1st Gen Nano and 5th Gen iPod this way ever since I got them.
