PowerMac Ethernet Port

Hi. Is the ethernet port on the PowerMac Autosensing (Like the PowerBook)? i want to connect 2 computers with an normal straight through cable + not buy a crossover cable. Does anyone know if the powermac will cross the pins for me?

I know this works in OSX, not to sure about OS9 though (on a G4Dual800)

I heard the same. It should work in X, but not 9.

The problem I may have then is that I need to connect an old 8600 PowerMac & a Dual Ghz PowerMac together (connecting OS8.6 --> OS9 or OSX). I'll give it a go in the next couple of days and let you know the result.
