You can connect the iPod HiFi to the Apple TV or directly to your TV if you want, but you can't use the Apple TV interface to choose which music plays on an iPod connected to the iPod HiFi.

Yeah you can. just get an Optical cable take it from the output of the AppleTV to the Hi-Fi. or you can get the Mini Jack to 2xRCA as well

Buddy your original post is unclear. The only way to use the Apple TV to select the music is to actually have the music on the Apple TV and run a cable to the iPod Hi-Fi. You cannot do it any other way. There is no way to hook the Apple TV into the actual iPod to change the albums and such. It all has to be on the Apple TV with a cable running the the iPod Hi-Fi.

The iPod Hi-Fi has an optical input. You need a Toslink (on the Apple TV) to mini-Toslink adapter (on the iPod Hi-Fi). It plugs into the same 1/8th" AUX input as any other device would use.

Link:

Input port accepts analog 3.5 mm stereo minijack or S/PDIF optical digital miniplug4

As a note it is not polite to use all caps. Especially when people are tying to help you.
