Do you save your Mac boxes?

Most boxes for electronic devices end up in the garbage. My Mac boxes, however, are another story.

Who keeps their Mac boxes?

I feel your pain. In the photo I'm missing my original G3 iMac box and my G3 iBook box (don't have the iMac anymore). I still have all the components for the rest of the boxes, except for the powerbook box at the bottom (sold it).

I keep them because we're going to move next summer, and again three years after that. I don't trust anything but the original packaging.

(And Apple's packaging is @#$%ing sexy)

-Apple Macbook
-Apple iPhone
-Apple Wireless Keyboard
-Apple Bluetooth Mighty Mouse

and these oter boxes I've kept (they aren't Mac sexy :P)

-Sony Cybershot
-Griffin Elevator
-And the iKlear packaging/Apple bag it came in

Yes, I keep them. But the main reason is because I know I will eventually sell the hardware to finance the upgrade to bigger and better things, so the box will be essential down the road. :D

I do when I get them, I have bought all of my Macs used, and I probably won't bother getting a new one until I graduate from highschool. I have the box for my powerbook, iPod Nano 1G and for my iPod shuffle 2G, and for my Apple keyboard.

I always keep boxes for warranty purposes, but usually toss them once it expires or I need space. I only keep them longer if they will add resale value. Boxed Apple products go for a very nice premium on eBay.

I keep all the boxes to my electronics. They always sell better when you have the original box. Since I upgrade fairly frequently, I'm usually selling my old equipment to help pay for the new stuff.

One reason is that if you keep the box and then decide to flog on eBay it's always worth more when "boxed, as new!"

Yeah I keep all my Apple boxes. The MBP box is nice and slim; I had it open on a chair in the corner of my lounge and on iChat recently someone caught sight of it in my background and thought I'd been eating a huge pizza :D

I mostly don't keep empty boxes due to space constraints of living in an apartment. Logic Pro box is an exception; that one is just too nice and is useful to store the manuals etc.

The smaller ones yes. Got all my iPod boxes, and them crappy in-ear earphones I was stupid enough to buy.

I keep the bags too :) in the UK (dunno about anywhere else) you get drawstring bags, like what sports shops give you. They're great for sticking in stuff on bike rides or adventures.

honestly im just a network admin that watches what he spends and i flip my computer's throw a little saved cash at them and enjoy them some of those boxes are old computers that ive sold, the macbooks are cause i went through 3 of them sold them all then got a macbook only to have it bugged out now im on my 5th its a 2.16 its been great, but i put leppy on it last week and i kinda regret it cause the buggs.

Ahhh... where was this thread when I was moving. My friends helped me pack and were honestly appalled at all the original boxes from my electronics (apple and otherwise). People are going to have to pry my MBP box from my cold dead hands.

I always keep boxes for more expensive items. i.e. Computers, wireless equipment, consoles, handhelds, monitors, etc...

I even save all of the bags from any purchase I make at an Apple store, because even those bags are sexy.

I kept them all, until the house and garage overflowed with them. Now I keep them, but I throw out the oldest box whenever I get a new one. So I maintain a steady state for the number of boxes, and I still have boxes for the newest items in case they need to be transported.

When my 2-year-old iMac needed a trip to the Apple Store (it got lonely to see its old pals there), having the box still around was very handy.

I've only kept the boxes for my laptops. I've found the desktop onces just take up too much damn space. Kudos to Apple for shrinking the size of the boxes for the MBs and MBPs although one might argue that the computer no longer has as much shock protection as a result.
