Thanks! It works now. There is a go button in the entry window that sends the message. Now if they can make a smaller interface.

You are probably not quite hitting it right.
In the contact menu, I had to go a little below to get the blue line to come on there and it to open up the chat box.

So far it has not worked for me.. I was not able to log on to my Yahoo IM that is what I wanted to use. I was able to log on the MSN but my buddies were way on the right side of the screen could not see them. Unfortunately I didn't have any buddy to chat with so I am not sure how it might work.

Well, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but so far I can't get my .mac AIM address to log in. Does it have to be an AOL address for meebo to accept it, or does any AIM account work?

I was able to use this last night by hitting the "go" button on the iphones keyboard. It did have quite a lag logging in though.
Stupid question but does ichat support MSN like Meebo and Adium and such?

I've had Safari crash on me twice so far while logging in on my iPhone. Haven't even been able to send a single message with it yet. Looks promising, though. Would be nice if they made an iPhone specific version tailored to the iPhone's screen size. And also would be nice if Apple made Safari a bit more stable (I've had it crash numerous times on me in the two days since my phone was (finally) activated)..

Hey all - this is Seth from meebo. Fortunately, we were able to get our hands on an iPhone Friday evening and one of our folks spent the weekend working to get meebo functional on there. meebo now works, but the experience isn't where we'd like it to be. We're hoping for additional developer documentation to create a really great meebo experience on there. Thanks much! Seth

"reconnect" Oops! Meebo detected a network interruption.
please check your network connection.

Works great, makes me wonder why this is not a built in feature on the iPhone ????
that's easy... at&t wants to charge $10 for 137K of file transfer (that's the $10 a month sms option)
seems the iphone was really designed by apple for the benefit of at&t, not users.
luckily sites like meebo exist.
and... it works on mine! :-D
hopefully the next update won't have something to disable meebo... you can see those greedy at&t execs now getting all steamed that they won't get their extra money for a few extra bytes of text transfer....

Hopefully there will be a lot of cool things like this when the iPhone hits the UK...
I think that when iPhoneLinux comes out, with S/NES emulation, games, VoIP and IM (all speculation), the iPhone will be awesome!

I was thinking the exact same thing... thought I was going to see something about a native meebo app (which almost wouldn't make sense since they don't make a native app for anything)
Instead I had to relive the frustration of the first week after launch till beejive came out with their web based aim app

Just go to the meebo web page. I've been doing this for a while now. Or use Fring, which is actually a standalone app that has skype and sip (VOIP ftw) support that doesn't close if you hit the home button.
I'm waiting for a Digsby version for iPhone though.
