Is it possible to rename Trash?

I'm just curious as to whether it's possible to rename the Trash can to something else (in Jaguar).

i do believe that it is not possible and i have not seen any hacks for it either.

No, but you can make an alias and rename that

I've seen it as "Wastebasket" on a screenshot. No idea how they did it though. I actually forgot about this when I posted my original question.

It was probably called "Wastebasket" in a localization for a different country.

I think the Trash is either called "rubbish" or "dustbin" in Australia, for example.

I remember reading about it in Mac OS X: The Missing Manual (it was the 10.1 edition though). You would rename the trash's dock icon by messing with a .plist file, I believe (using root user capabilities).
