Has anyone tried hooking Apple's a/v cables into the port on the iPhone? Or alternatively, using the a/v dock? I'd really like to hook my phone up to the tv, but dropping $100 on an a/v dock that may not work is outta my price range.

I asked this same question on this forum already. I was told by an apple store employee video out is not possible on the iphone. Someone else on the forum confirmed the same thing. Why the iphone doesn't support video out is beyond me. Anyone who's got it to work I'd love to be proven wrong on this!
