I'm about to buy my macbook pro after selling my old powerbook. So basically this is how i will have my set up:
15inch mbp, new version with nvidia 8600/driver
OSX/Vista
External 22" display
Now, my question is. Will the nvidia drivers be able to turn off the mbp display and set my External display as the primary display at it's native resolution (1680x1050)? and be able to swap back and forth.
This is what I know: On the MBP with ATI card, I was able to do this and easily swap the primary display from the mbp lid@1440x900(native) to the external moniter1680x1050(native) and vice versa with alt+F7 after setting it up on the ati drivers, so i know the ati drivers will let you do this. If you're trying to figure this out send me a message and i'll be glad to help.
