I remember surfing the web, and somone managed to connect his wii with hdmi and he said there was a difference. However, I can't find it for the life of me.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Or is it even possible to do it?

Well it's probably possible to buy one of those expesove bpxes which takes any import source and outputs it via HDMI - but as for looking better..... over component. probably not.

As other people have responded, it's probably through a scaler. As for it looking better, if it does it's the TV. The external scaler is just doing a better job getting the 480p content to the screens native resolution than the built in scaler is. The source material isn't changing at all.
