I just purchased a 32" Sharp Aquos LCD TV and while the TV is amazing I can't seem to get it to calibrate to the point where I am pleased. I think I may keep it just as a TV and buy a Dell 3007 WFP. Does anyone know if my PowerBook Rev D. will support this? I have the 128mb video card in it and 2 gigs of ram if that matters.

Due the extensive replies....ok I'm kidding. But I talked to Apple today and my pb will support dual link dvi so I think I'm going to pick up an ACD or Dell this next week.

Mods can close this if you want.

I didn't know the old Powerbooks had Dual-DVI, but if Apple says so, great!

You're going to love the 30"

My video card supports it. the 128mb ATI Mobility Radeon 9700. At least according to the chick @ Apple Chat. :)

I don't think the 9700 is a dual link card... i would double check on that. It may theoretically support that resolution, but the DVI port might not be dual link. I would check it but I am on a mobile phone :)

Short answer yes your covered http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304448

Revision D doesn't identify which size 15 or 17in you have. The 15in went through one less revision than the 17in as it was introduced later. You either have the final model 15in with dual layer DVD writer, or a lower res 1.67GHz 17in model either way as long as you have 128mb of video memory you have the DL DVI connector and it will work.

The last 15in model not to have DL DVI was the 1.5GHz ATI 9700m 64mb model introduced at the end of January 2005

You are right. I have the low-res 15" so second to last rev of the 15" which sported the lower res and slower memory. Or maybe the 15" never got the res upgrade just the memory. Either way the 9700 is supposed to support it...I was worried too and oddly went through that damn setup thread to find someone who may have a 30" connected to a PB...no such luck but the browsing was a slow process of course with all the photos!
