We are battling with my son over the internet and finally disabled his mac mini in his room. My question is, he wants an x box for his birthday, does this have internet and downloading movie capability? I don't want another avenue for arguing

yes, however you'll have to buy a wi-fi add on, or run an Ethernet cord.
However he won't be able surf the web ....just game with other people (that cost $$), buy movies,tv shows and games
