is anyone else still hearing the static after 10.4.10 audio update?

today for the first time since the audio update that was released shortly after 10.4.10 i heard a faint crackling/static noise comming from my macbook.. i Have instaled the audio update.. .what could be the problem?

ps this is when there is no music or sound playing
 
I hear static on 10.4.10 and I'm told my version is from after the audio prob was found and that my update doesn't need a fix. I've heard it's the hardware from another thread around here, although I have a 15" SR MBP so it's a slightly different computer and the people who were discussing that hardware problem I think were saying it was these particular computers but I could be wrong. Not loud enough to bug me though so I don't plan on doing anything about it.
