So I want to do a clean wipe of my MAC but...

1. What's the best software available to do this?
2. I have spent hours and hours creating itunes playlists... is there anyway I can back them up so I have them after I wipe everything off the mac?

1. Insert OSX disk, select Erase & Install
2. Back up your entire iTunes folder

does this work for only mac's or can i put this on my PC and it will be the same?

You should be able to replace the iTunes folder on your PC with the one from your Mac (in My Music instead of Music), but you can't reinstall OS X on your PC. 😀
